Have you heard of distillation?
CBD Distillate and Isolate are popular methods of extracting CBD from the hemp or cannabis plants. Distillation refers to the act of purifying a liquid by heating or cooling. It can also refer to extraction. When we talk about CBD distillation we are referring to both definitions. This is the process by which people extract and concentrate CBD to create clean and pure products on a molecular level. The result is a potent and pure formulation of cannabinoids designed for easy application.
An estimate that on average, a cannabis distillate contains around 80 percent CBD from hemp. The rest is a synergy of minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and other botanicals.
Distillation is an effective method of producing cannabis concentrates. One alternative method is to use a solvent like butane or alcohol, which may be toxic upon consumption. Another way to extract CBD is with high pressure and heat. This may also be an unfavorable method of extraction because applying heat breaks apart the plant, which destroys many beneficial elements of the plant.
CBD distillate is considered a pure product, however CBD isolate is as pure as it gets when it comes to cannabidiol. CBD isolate is purely CBD without any other cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids. Keep in mind that creating CBD isolate requires a lot of processing, which makes it medicinally less effective than its counterpart, distillate. The distillate is about 80 percent cannabidiol whereas CBD isolate is always 100 percent cannabidiol.
